Summer at Sea Glass Cove Welcome to Sea Glass Cove!

Marine archaeologist Lauren Sunshine is used to life on the go. Her suitcase is always packed ready to explore the country’s underwater heritage so when a shipwreck is found off the Dorset coast, she is thrilled to be leading the excavation team.

Philippa Silver, ‘Phil’ to the folk of Sea Glass Cove, has devoted her life to the Museum by the Sea. But funding is tight, and despite subletting half of the museum to her best friend Jules’s sea glass shop, she fears for the museum’s future.

Phil hopes the wreck discovery could bring more visitors – but there’s a problem – the museum’s too small to house its treasures. Thankfully, new friend Lauren seems as determined as she is to save the museum.

But, when Phil’s brother Ollie catches Lauren’s eye, she begins to wonder if she has more than one reason to be interested in life at Sea Glass Cove…

5.0 out of 5 stars A blast of a read
What a blast. This book has so many interesting characters whose lives and loves are interwoven in a careful way. The coast and the ship wreck bounty is described so well and the joy about the discoveries from the dive and the treasures thrown on to the beach is infectious. The characters are delightful, best friends, old flames, siblings and old married couples all blur into one kind and caring community. A community that cooks dinners, that picks friend up from hospital, that stands up to bullying local councillors and one that falls in love.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
The descriptions of the coast and of the ships finds was very descriptive, and how the divers felt when finding missing treasures.
The characters were all linked to each other, and the way they come together to help was lovely to read.
I highly recommend this book.

A marine archaeologist is working on a dive site just off on the Dorset coast, in fictional Sea Glass Cove.. A number of significant finds sees Lauren meeting members of the town, just as the local town museum is earmarked for closure. Meeting a new collection of characters we are taken through the highs and lows of a small town that relies in the tourist trade, and slimy local councillors !

Having just spent a few days collecting sea glass near Lyme Regis, I was very excited to read this book. I love Jenny Kane’s Potting Shed series too.
This is a lovely book, full of good characters and storylines.
Saving the Museum by the Sea from closure is the main storyline and it was fascinating reading the detail about finds from shipwrecks.

I liked the main character Lauren, a woman in love but who is not to be messed with!

There is a real community around the local museum but the marine archeology team definitely change the situation. I love the way characters interact and the situation develops. A beautiful narrative and a cute romance. A great summer romance.
Took a bit to get into, but I am a big fan of Jenny Kane and it got better and better.. You learn a lot about marine archeologist . You have secret love and new love. An ace pub. Corrupt councillors. Two of my favourite characters were Arthur and Jeff. Read it.
I’m a big fan of Jenny’s writing so when I saw she had another new book coming out, I was quite excited. I was also intrigued as it moves a little further away from her usual locations, so I knew it was going to be something a bit different. Having now read it, it is and it isn’t. All the usual elements of Jenny’s books are present – engaging and sympathetic lead characters, beautiful locations, an older couple who don’t fulfil elderly stereotypes and a whole host of secondary characters with full lives and stories of their own to tell. What’s different is that the book is set in Dorset, rather than Devon or Cornwall and that the main character’s job is not one that is commonly found in books. Marine archaeology is quite a niche area, more commonly found in thrillers, but, as I discovered, it also works beautifully for a romcom series set on the Jurassic Coast….
